Meet Sakshama Ghoslya. Sakshama is a B.tech 3rd year student pursuing Electrical Engineering at IIT Mandi. He launched a campaign on My Dream Store targeting his batch-mates at college. He has two successful campaigns under his belt in a very short duration, and now he is our campaigner of the week!
Recently, we spoke to him about his experience with us. The conversation has been transcribed below.
Tell us a little bit more about you!
I’m Sakshama Ghoslya, I am a 3rd Year Student pursuing B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Mandi and my hobbies are Electronics circuit designing, Playing Badminton and volleyball, and listening to songs. I’m also Electronics Club coordinator at IIT Mandi.
What is your T-shirt about?
My T-shirts are related to our electronics club and chemistry batch. The idea first came to me when our Electronics club members asked me to buy T-shirts for them.
What was launching your first campaign like?
The process of launching t-shirt campaign on My Dream Store is very easy. I didn’t need any guidance while launching or designing a T-shirt there. The design studio was friendly and easy to use.
When is the first time you heard about My Dream Store?
I heard about My Dream Store through a friend of mine around one year ago, ever since they launched their website.
Have you sold t-shirts or other merchandise before? Was the My Dream Store experience any different?
This was the first time that I sold my own t-shirts online and it was a very good experience. I am glad for that. This makes me keen to keep doing this. Before deciding on My Dream Store, I searched a few online T-shirt Suppliers, but the major pain lies in collecting the right sizes from every customer and then collecting the cash amount in return, finding vendors and distributing the products. I found that My Dream Store performs all these tasks for the campaigners and it hugely solved my problem.
What is the #1 thing that you wished My Dream Store would offer but it doesn’t.
In my opinion, My Dream Store should provide more flexibility in terms of font, colours as well as designs.
How did you promote your t-shirt?
I promoted the t-shirt by putting up posters on the college notice board. A lot of the students got really interested by looking at the posters. I also promoted the T-shirt on Facebook and other social media channels. That helped me in getting more sales for both the campaigns I’ve launched.
Did you communicate with our customer support team in the process? How was the experience?
Yes, during the competition I everyday talked to Karshni Kharbanda. She solved all my queries and issues related to my campaigns. You have a great team sitting there to help.
What’s the best piece of advice you could give someone just starting out?
I would say to them ‘Just do it, don’t wait.’ Sometimes, it’s better to just take that leap and just do it, instead of waiting and researching.
It was great interacting with Sakshama who had a great time right away with My Dream Store! However, please remember that not all have immediate success when they first start out. If your first campaign doesn’t work out the way you hoped, DO NOT give up. Do a bit of research, reach out to us and learn how to promote more. Try and try till you succeed. Someday, you will be a top performer and we will be hailing you as the Campaigner of the Week.
See you guys again next week. Till then, keep campaigning!
