On World Tiger Day 2015 – Raise Awareness for this Regal Creature

TIGER, tiger, burning bright, in the forests of the night; What immortal hand or eye, could frame thy fearful symmetry?

Tigers may be one of the most admired animals, but they are also vulnerable to extinction. The largest of the world’s big cats has a day that is dedicated to it. World Tiger Day was first celebrated in 2010 and was founded at an international summit that had been called in response to the shocking news about the rapid decline of tigers!

It was found out that, in a bit over 100 years, we have lost about 97% of all wild tigers! Currently, only as few as 3000 tigers live in the wild today and this figure is also rapidly declining. Quite a number of Tiger species have already become extinct. Tigers are on the brink of extinction and International World Tiger Day aims to bring attention to this fact and try to halt their decline. Many factors have caused their numbers to fall, including habitat loss, climate change as well as hunting and poaching.

World Tiger Day aims to protect and expand their habitats and raise awareness of the need for conservation. Many international organisations are involved in the day, including the WWF, the IFAW and the Smithsonian Institute. What we can do to help the cause of the Tiger is to raise awareness in every way possible. Spread the message about these regal creatures and their vulnerability.

My Dream Store also wants to lend a helping hand and we aim to donate all proceeds from the sale of our ‘Save the Tiger’ T-Shirt campaign to the WWF foundation to Save the Tigers now! We have to resort to activism in all ways to ensure we increase political will, funding and commitment to the cause! Donate Now!

Tiger, Tiger, burning bright, will not let you fade out of sight, that is my promise and for you we will fight.
