One dream at a time and that’s how we do it!

That’s right, that’s what we do to turn “a’ campaign into a “dream” campaign. And this journey is fun and adventurous. Now did we mention ‘sluggish’, we did not. For it’s not a late evening walk.

In the last few months we have seen quite a few campaigns. Some took off like targeted missiles while the others landed with a thud. We have to be frank in our submission here, as some campaigns were not necessarily rock-stars on the bill-board. And that left us pondering, when Zig Ziglar came around and said “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.”

So we set out to pen down what can help you make your campaign a hit, and behold – this is our attempt.

1.    First of all – Speak!

It’s imperative for you to let the people know. If there is a campaign that you have started, go ahead; tell the people that you did. Begin with family and friends and then, may be, move to their family and friends. Make all your attempts and use all the platforms, to let all your contacts know that you have a campaign up in the market, and they can help you rock it.

 2.    Target audience

No rocket science, targeting increases the probability. Based on the campaign, know for yourself who are your target audience. A “beer lover” campaign would not put you in the bar, but behind the bars – if you are trying to lure an under-16 into it. So, know your audience and also help them know your campaign. And gain audience who might turn into your customers.

 3.    Options, options!

The world is diverse. And hence one color, one size, one pattern is not going to make everyone happy. Plan-out combinations. Provide variety, provide choices. You might just come across a guy who would say “Spidey in green &red, that’s exactly what I wanted” – You never know. Hence, provide options – people like that.

 4.    Trends

You might not be someone who sets the trends, but there is no harm in following one. Of course, we have always been advised ‘to make hay while sun shines’. For instance – Presently, it makes more sense to design a theme around football irrespective of your cricket passion.

 5.    Niche

When planning small campaigns, it’s good to target a niche. Focus on the niche groups and their hangout places. Let them know, or even involve them into your campaign. This will help you reach your target sooner.

 6.    Serve, just the right amount.

It’s suggested, to make a good guess of your reach and have a stock based on that. Having an abundant stock and also letting the customers know about it, is not a good idea. Some might say “I need it”but put-off their purchase to the weekend and well, never return.  If the supply is more, the demand seems to go down automatically. Hence, never have too much at hand. A sense of scarcity might help you sell sooner.

 7.    Don’t stop speaking!

It’s not enough to say “campaign” once and expect your campaign to be a hit. You have to let people know that the campaign is very much “alive and kicking”, till the last T-shirt goes off the shelf.  So, the speaking ends with the stocks.

Finally, we want to leave you with a mantra – “The Campaign fails, when you stop trying.”

Gaurav Verma, a part time designer with interests lies in designing is among the early campaigners on My Dream Store. His first campaign was targeted towards Sport Enthusiasts, which got successful. With the experienced gained, he has gone to launch couple of more campaigns one targeting Music Lovers and the other into random art t-shirt. We congratulate him for getting all the campaigns successful & had a small chit chat to understand his success recipe.


MDS: Have you sold merchandise before?

No. But I have designed for various design houses and websites. I have decent experience designing t-shirts for others but this was my first opportunity to sell on my own private label. I always wanted to launch my own brand – Pingletee, which didn’t see its light, as it involves good amount of upfront investment, risk and lot of hassles.

MDS: How was experience selling through My Dream Store?

It’s a very new concept. I tried starting with a single campaign with an iota of pessimism. What I had to do was to create a design and promote it in my social circle. Though it sounded pretty simple, I was not quite sure about the outcome. Neither I had experience in sales. But I’ve decided to launch the campaign on the theme of Sports. I’ve worked on the design and launched a campaign. What I have seen after that was a great experience indeed. I had put some efforts to spread a word about my campaign. Reached few of my followers, friends & family. Used social media tools like Facebook, Twitter and sent emails to the circles I am active in. In the process I got to learn lot of new things.

After receiving the order My Dream Store took care of manufacturing, packaging and delivering it. They even took care of Customer support. After that I launched 2 more campaigns. They were successful because of Team MDS; I should agree that credit goes to the the team as well for making it successful.

MDS: What did you feel the first time, when you heard about this unique idea of fundraising by my dream store?

Initially I was not confident of selling. With continuous inputs and better knowledge transformation MDS changed my perception. They gave me inputs on what type of t-shirt sells and lot of ways of promoting my campaigns. Initially I felt selling was not my cup of tea, but running the campaigns, I understood it’s more like connecting to people on emotional level. Having a good social circle is a bonus, but even if you don’t you can join those groups on social networks and post details of your campaign. Sending an email to your peers also do help.

MDS – How long did it take for you to launch the campaign?

It took me a day to work on the theme and 3 minutes to launch the campaign. I would recommend people to work on design and target specific group of audience. Your chances of the getting the campaign successful will be high.

MDS – So did you order a T-shirt for yourself? Tell us about the material quality and the print quality?

Yes, I bought t-shirt for all my campaigns music and time. Like every other online buyer, even I was doubtful about quality initially. When I received the product, it was great. Be it the print quality or the fabric quality, I can rate it to among the top brands available in the Market. I enjoyed the product and the printing came out to be fabulous.

MDS – Did you hear from any customer who purchased your product?

 MDS – Will you launch a campaign In future again?

I have established a decent customer base here and they are increasing too. I am enjoying the complete process. Right from designing to promoting with out having to worry about the manufacturing & delivery nuances. I am currently working on my next campaign. You can expect it anytime soon.

MDS – Would you recommend my dream Store to other who want to sell T-shirts?

Yes. If you wish to launch your brand or want to raise funds for your career/ pursue your passion, raise funds for a cause, it’s a great platform. It’s making more and more people realize their dreams.

Any other feedback in general?

With a standard client base, developed already, I am eagerly waiting for new products like Tote Bags, Posters and many more items which I can use in my campaign. And I am sure MDS is working on developing the design studio & adding more options for the apparel segment.

Oh yesterday’s day and today’s
How I thought the sun would shine tomorrow
But it rained…

When they screamed few years back, we fell in love with the band. We were very excited when we got chance to design a t-shirt for PARIKRAMA, so we wanted to make something that would reflect what PARIKRAMA actually is, we wanted to make something for the millions of followers of PARIKRAMA out there, something they would fall into love with, at the first sight .

With the motto to celebrate the undying spirit of ‘heavy meNtal rock’ we’ve designed these tees specially for the 23rd anniversary of the biggest, the craziest and the awesome-est rock band from India – PARIKRAMA.

The concept and Idea in our designer (Garima) words, the team silhouette at top of digit 2 representing the band members taken from one of their shoots. The whole design in front altogether represents the number 23. It was doodled from the scratch. There are many activities going on along the design : On side of digit 3 some papers are flying, a stair running across the gramophone, at the bottom of the design people are drowning and still enjoying the music…etc that can be revealed by going through the entire design.

The idea was to represent what PARIKRAMA have created so far in terms of love for the MUSIC, madness for ROCK and LOVE for the band in souls for their followers and people who enjoy music.
The moment, PARIKRAMA team finalized the design and shared a word to its fans, the tees went out in no time. We were amazed with the responses we’ve got. We did get few responses from Australia & New Zealand for these tees. It shows the global fan presence of the band. So far it has been the fastest successful campaign since inception of My Dream Store and we wish to PARIKRAMA and the team a happy anniversary and keep rocking for the years to come.
